Steubenville South

Deadline Approaches

VERY IMPORTANT DEADLINE INFORMATION

The deadline to register for Steubenville South is BEFORE MARCH 3.  You can register by completing a permission form for Steubenville South and paying a $30 non-refundable deposit.

Steubenville South is a mini youth conference run by the Franciscan University of Steubenville through its Franciscan Youth Outreach Program.

You may bring your money and permission form with you to our regular VPCYG meeting this Sunday (Feb. 24) at 6:15 at the Family Life Center.  Or you can turn it in to my wife, Mrs. Anne (if you attend Sacred Heart); to me (if you attend Ville Platte High); or leave it at the church office for Sacred Heart or Queen of All Saints.

After paying the $30 non-refundable deposit, you will still need to pay $105 by April 27.  This total of $135 includes food for the 3 days of the Steubenville South Conference.

However, there will be a housing fee.  VPCYG will need to stay at an Alexandria hotel, which is about $50 total.  The hotel prices for two night stay run about $100/night, or $200 per room.  With 4 people per room, this means that the housing cost will be another $50.  (Depending on the final cost of the room.)

Then, there are incidental costs, like CDs; t-shirts; prayer books; extra snacks.

So, the final total for Steubenville South is about $200, of which there is a March 3 deadline for the $30 deposit.

  1. I enjoyed the last few minutes of the meeting

  2. Nicholas Jagneaux says:

    Michael,

I know that y’all had much more fun at the end of the meeting; however, considering that we’re in Lent, I didn’t think a party-type atmosphere would be appropriate as the main focus of the evening.

The next meeting, on March 16, will be keeping with Lenten spirituality, too.

However, once we get to April, I plan on getting an X-Box (or PlayStation) and maybe doing Guitar Hero; or maybe even just pulling out Clue! or Monopoly. Something a little more fun.

I was also thinking about doing 2 Sunday night meetings a month – one for just fun; the other for something a little more serious.

  3. I was talking about how i was @ the altar serving meeting.

  4. Nicholas Jagneaux says:

    Gotcha. Sorry I misunderstood.

However, I will be trying to secure something a little more fun for April.

  5. The Waffles were Awesome!!!!!! Thanks Again Mrs.Anne

  6. Angie Fontenot says:

    Dear Mr. Nick
I think two monthly meetings are great. The kids need fun but also some serious time for them to grow in their faith. Think about letting them pick topics for discussion, even if they do it on the fun night. It might be a really great way for them to communicate and to hear what others feel, like they did in alex. on our outing,to st.cabrini

  7. Nicholas Jagneaux says:

    Angie,

Because I’m going to Belgium for the summer, probably we won’t start having the second monthly meeting until next school year.

But, I do think that it’ll be something good.
