To Members & Parents
For the 34 of you who are going to Steubenville, here are a few important reminders:
† Final Payment for Registration of $105 is due before April 21
† The Steubenville South Individual Liability Forms must be completed, notorized, and turned in by May 26; however, I would prefer them in by April 21, if possible
o If you need help getting your form notorized, VPCYG has arranged for two opportunities expressly for our members for just $2:
§ Saturday, April 19, from 8:30-10:30 am, at H&R Block – Mr. P.L. Fontenot will be helping to notarize the forms
§ Sunday, April 20, from 2:30-3:00 pm, at the Family Life Center – Mrs. Becky Buller will be helping to notarize the forms
† Payment for Housing and Transportation of $80 is due before May 21. (This amount could be less, depending on your participation in the fundraising activities.)
Any adult who wishes to volunteer to work with VPCYG must have received the Safe Environment Training, as required by the US Bishops, and our Shepard, Bishop Jarrell.

† What : Initial Training (about 1-hour-and-1/2); and Continuing Education (about 30 minutes)

VPCYG will conduct a carwash to raise money to help defray the costs of attending Steubenville South. The carwash will be held on Saturday, April 19, from 12 noon until 2:30 pm. Only those who participate in the activity will be able to benefit from the proceeds. We will need people not only to wash vehicles, but also to attract “customers” by advertising with posters at traffic signals in town. April VPCYG Meetings
Saturday, April 19, 6:30 pm, FLC – We’ll celebrate our successful carwash with a VPCYG Movie and Pizza Night We’ll be watching I Am Legend with Will Smith. Everyone – including those who do not participate in the fundraiser – is invited.
Sunday, April 27, 6:15 pm, FLC – Our regular monthly VPCYG meeting.
May Activities and Meetings
Saturday, May 10, 12 noon, Chicot State Park – 1st annual Chicot Canoe and Cook-out: We’ll grill burgers/hot dogs and take a guided tour around Chicot Lake in canoes. We plan on having a vigil Mass held at the Park. There are only 12 slots left open for the canoe tour; SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW A.S.A.P. if you want to reserve your seat. The cost is $5 (including Park entry).
Sunday, May 11, after Mass outside OLQAS, Sacred Heart, and St. Joseph – Mothers’ Day Fundraiser: We are going to sell roses and collect prayer petitions for Mother’s Day. The prayer petitions will be carried with us on our pilgrimage from the Ave Maria Shrine to the Benedictine Monastery.
Saturday, May 17, Morning Time To Be Announced (probably at 8:30 am)– Pilgrimage from Ave Maria Shrine to Benedictine Monastery: The 5-mile pilgrimage will include time for prayer, reflection, and good Christian fellowship. The pilgrimage itself should not take more than 2 hours. We will probably spend some time on the grounds of the Monastery for lunch.
